SMS Terms
Georgia Building Trades Academy Inc (GABTA) sends text messages to participants and applicants about their application and their training. The sections below explain what we send, how you agree to receive it, what it costs, and how to stop.
What we send
Messages relate to your application and your place in the programme. That includes application and orientation updates, class reminders, schedule changes and closures, reminders about documents we still need from you, and notices about stipends or incentives you have earned. We do not sell or share your phone number, and we do not send advertising.
How you agree to receive them
The GABTA application asks, in its own question, whether you agree to receive text messages. Nothing is chosen for you, and you can answer no. Agreeing is not a condition of applying, of being accepted, or of taking part in the programme, and answering no does not affect your application in any way. We record your answer and the date you gave it.
If you did not apply online, a member of staff may ask you the same question in person and record your answer the same way.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting that number. You can also tell any member of staff and we will do it for you. Stopping texts does not affect your application or your place in the programme, and we will still reach you by phone or email.

Cost and frequency
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. GABTA does not charge you for these messages. Message frequency varies: it depends on where you are in the programme, and there will be weeks with none at all.
Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your information
We use your mobile number to contact you about the programme. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing. Ask us at any time what we hold about you, or to correct it.
