What we collect
When you apply, we collect what we need to determine eligibility and to run the programme: your name, date of birth, contact details, address, education and employment history, and information about circumstances that may qualify you for funded training. While you are in the programme we keep records of attendance, training, credentials earned, and support provided.
Why we collect it
To decide whether you are eligible, to deliver training and support, to help you into an apprenticeship or a job, and to report on our programmes to the agencies and funders that pay for them. Some of our funding is federal, which obliges us to report participant outcomes.
Your mobile number
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with subcontractors who provide support services on our behalf is permitted. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.
We use your mobile number to contact you about your application and your training. Agreeing to receive text messages is optional, is never a condition of applying or taking part, and you can stop at any time by replying STOP. Our Terms & Conditions explain this in full.
Who we share information with
We share information with the government agencies and funders that support our programmes, where we are required to report on participants and outcomes. We share with training partners, employers and apprenticeship committees only where it is needed to place you or to enrol you in training, and we tell you when we do. We use service providers to run our systems, and they may process information on our behalf under contract.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Participants under 18
Our YouthBuild programme accepts participants from age 16. Where an applicant is under 18 we seek a parent or guardian's consent, and a parent or guardian may ask us what we hold about their child.
How long we keep it
We keep participant records for as long as our funders require us to, which is generally several years after a participant leaves the programme, and then we dispose of them securely.
Your choices
Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to correct something that is wrong and we will. Tell us to stop texting you and we will, and it will not affect your place in the programme.
